When the tractor won't start, the starter is usually the first to blame. That's not always the problem, but things do go wrong with the starter and its solenoid. To quickly diagnose and then get it repaired, some simple steps can tell you whether or not the starter is to blame. If it is not the starter after testing we can give you some ideas of what to check.
If your brass radiator core is in good shape we should be able to repair. If not recoring or replacing would be necessary. Recoring the radiator involves removing the tanks and side panels from the old core. If the tanks are soldered onto the core, the solder is heated and removed from around the tank-to-header joint in order to remove them from the core. The tanks are then sandblasted removing paint and dirt in order to prep them to be re-soldered onto the new core. The area of the tank where it sits on the header is then fluxed and solder is flowed into the seam to seal the tank to the header.
Un-styled tractors, larger trucks and heavy equipment radiators have tanks that are bolted to the headers of the core. Tanks and side panels are unbolted and removed from the core. Dirt, rust and sludge are cleaned from inside the tanks. The old gasket material that seals the tank to the core is scraped from the gasket surfaces. The tanks are they prepped with new gaskets and bolts to be re-installed onto the new core.

Moisture inside a fuel tank will rust, clogging your lines. Ethanol is a mandated additive in modern fuel that readily absorbs water. This combination is extremely damaging to all gas tanks; it rust steel, corrodes aluminum, destroys fiberglass and swells plastic tanks. It even affects most gas tank liners. Regardless of what your tank is made of, or what it’s lined with, these effects must be addressed.
If tanks have been lined without a thorough cleaning, you will have more troubles. We will remove rust, old linings & old gas. Then a good cleaning and finally re-lining.
